A night at the museum that’ll live long in the memory

Another successful Long Night of Museums in Zurich saw visitors enjoy the FIFA Museum’s exhibitions and special programme until the early hours of the morning.

As well as our usual collection and our special exhibition, “The Making of a Footballer: Photographs of Youthful Dreams”, there was plenty to keep the night owls busy, with behind-the-scenes tours of our archive, the action-packed VR experience and two special Q&A sessions with Swiss legends.

The World Cup trophies seemed to sparkle particularly brightly in the evening lights, as many of our visitors swarmed to admire them and stopped to take a photo.

All of the tours were fully booked, as was the VR experience, which transported our guests to the inception of the FIFA World Cup™ itself, as they journeyed back to 1930 to explore the inaugural tournament.

Swiss legends Blerim Dzemaili, Fabienne Humm, Thomas Bickel and Prisca Steinegger shared their more recent World Cup experiences at the Q&A sessions and hung around The Rainbow for a while afterwards, signing autographs and snapping selfies before the crowds continued their late-night adventures through football history.

It was a brilliant night, and we were thrilled to see so many new and familiar faces pouring through the doors of the FIFA Museum. We’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for a midnight tour through football history at the 2025 Long Night of Museums – but, until then, we’ll catch you all during our typical opening hours.

Did you make it along? Check out our photo gallery to see if you can spot yourself amongst all the other football fans and history buffs who enjoyed the evening.
