The eyes of the footballing world will soon be on the Olympic Football Tournaments, which are taking place in seven French cities between 24 July and 10 August. Together with the 28 men’s and women’s football teams and over 10,000 Olympic athletes, the FIFA World Cup trophy will head to Paris and spend the duration of the Games there. As of Thursday 18 July, it will not be on display at the FIFA Museum in Zurich.
Visitors to the FIFA Museum will still be able to admire the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy and to discover a whole host of items dedicated to each edition of FIFA’s flagship tournaments. These include exhibits from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ final and momentous objects that have only recently been put on display for the first time in the expanded FIFA Women’s World Cup™ showcases.
The FIFA World Cup Trophy will travel back to Zurich in due course after the gold-medal matches in the French capital. An announcement will be made once it is back home at the FIFA Museum.
