Third and final home-made trophy on display at FIFA Museum

While the FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy is busy in Oceania at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, we are putting the winning entries of the Create your trophy contest on display in its showcase. From 9 August until 18 August the trophy from Rafael (9) is on display.

Once again, a lot of children took part in the “What does your trophy look like?” competition and sent in photos and the stories behind their or their team’s trophy creations. After careful consideration, the judges selected the three winning trophy entries.

From 18 July, each winning trophy will be showcased for ten days in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy display case. The winners, aged between 8 and 11, will be invited to the FIFA Museum during the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

From 9 to 18 August 2023, the trophy created by Rafael (9) is on display. This is the story behind its creation:

“Dear jury,
My name is Rafael and I am nine years old. I play in goal at Beinwil (Freiamt). My godmother, Carmen, told me about the FIFA Museum and I really want to go some day.
She saw there was a competition on the FIFA Museum’s website. We spent an afternoon crafting and I sprayed the cardboard and bottom ball gold because gold is for winners. My godmother helped me with the spraying because you have to press down really hard on the button. I also painted the cardboard and the big football and glued everything together with hot glue. I painted the globe so that you can see that it’s a World Cup trophy. The golden football is hanging from the globe, which is hanging from the big football. As you can see from the photo, they’re dangling in the air, because we hope that the Women’s World Cup will be an easy-going event.
I’m looking forward to visiting the museum and I would love it if my trophy were on display there!
Kind regards and see you soon,
Rafael”
