50 years later: Roger Hunt reunited with World Cup trophy

Roger Hunt, a World Cup winner on home soil in 1966 with England, visited the FIFA World Football Museum on Monday 17 October 2016. Hunt played in six games at the tournament, scoring three goals to help his country clinch its first World Cup victory. Fourth in the line to lift the Jules Rimet Cup, the striker confirmed to staff that Geoff Hurst’s infamous shot did indeed cross the line – though he may be a little biased!

As well as becoming the first Englishman to sign the museum's Wall of Champions and possibly the first ever to touch both World Cup trophies, Hunt also presented a white England jersey that he wore throughout the tournament to the museum.
