Female fans go free for International Women’s Day

<p><strong></strong><strong>On 8 March &ndash; International Women&rsquo;s Day &ndash; all female visitors to the FIFA World Football Museum will be granted free entry, giving them an exclusive opportunity to appreciate the phenomenon that is football in all its glory.</strong> </p> <p>Women&rsquo;s football has developed hugely in recent years, and more and more girls are taking up the world&rsquo;s most popular team sport. The FIFA Women&rsquo;s World Cup Canada&trade; was a great success, with 25.4 million people in the USA watching live on Fox as their team beat Japan 5-2 in the final, making it the most viewed soccer game in the history of American television.</p> <p>&ldquo;FIFA World Football Museum &ndash; what a beautiful space," FIFA Women's World Cup winner and Olympic gold medalist Abby Wambach, USA, wrote in the museum guest book.</p> <p>"I am thrilled to see it and be a small part of the wonderful history of the beautiful game!&rdquo;</p> <p><div class="article-top-content_import"><h4>Lloyd, Šašic and Miyama team up to tour the museum</h4><div class="ce_text block teaser">Enjoy a video tour of the museum with the nominees for the 2015 Women&rsquo;s Player of Year award.</div></div>The free entry to the FIFA World Football Museum will give women the opportunity to embark on an emotional journey of discovery through the fascinating world of international football. &ldquo;We don&rsquo;t just show the everyday face of football,&rdquo; says museum director Stefan Jost. &ldquo;We also present the ways that football enriches the lives of people all around the globe &ndash; and many of them are women and girls.&rdquo;</p> <p>&ldquo;We would be delighted if as many women as possible took advantage of this offer,&rdquo; adds Jost. &ldquo;At the end of their visit, non-fans too have a better understanding of the phenomenon that is football.&rdquo; Visitors can then have a chat about their experiences over a coffee and snack in one of the museum&rsquo;s eateries.&nbsp;Tickets for International Women&rsquo;s Day can be picked up free of charge at the museum&rsquo;s information desk. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
