Former Swiss national player and Swiss Footballer of the Year 2003 Prisca Steinegger becomes the first official female FIFA Museum Ambassador.

We are delighted to announce that former Swiss international Prisca Steinegger will become our first official female FIFA Museum Ambassador. "We are very much looking forward to welcoming Prisca, with her pleasant and authentic way, to the FIFA Museum team and to working with her in the future," said Marco Fazzone, Director of the FIFA Museum.

Born in Zurich, she wore the Swiss national team jersey a total of 55 times between 1996 and 2008, scoring two goals as a defender. For the final three years, she led the team onto the field as captain. In 2003, she was named Swiss Footballer of the Year. At club level, among others, Steinegger played for FC Zurich Women from 2005 to 2009 and during that time won two Swiss Championships and the Swiss Cup once.

Steinegger, who has been working for FIFA since 2001, is currently working as a Talent Development Programme Specialist. "I owe so much to women's football and I am a huge fan of the FIFA Museum. Representing this wonderful cultural institution in the region of Zurich as an ambassador is a true matter of the heart for me," says Steinegger.

Prisca Steinegger is the third person to represent the FIFA Museum as an ambassador, alongside Pascal Zuberbühler and Diego Forlan.
